What the app does

Calls each god by epithet, lineage and sanctuary, makes the proper offering and asks the god to attend, in the structure of the Greek hymn: invocation, praise, request.

Ways in: The Name, repeated, Chant and drone, Paced breath. Every session is carried on binaural sound tuned toward theta, the slow rhythm of the edge of sleep that these rites were built to reach. More on the state.

Why the rite works

A Greek god answered to the right epithet; Apollo of Delphi and Apollo the Healer were approached differently. The Orphic hymns were sung with an incense proper to each god, and the Papyri add the long vowel strings, sounded on a single breath, that were thought to carry the voice upward.
