The angels of the days

An angel on your home screen.

The Heptameron gives each day of the week to a planet and each planet to an angel: Michael for Sunday and the Sun, Gabriel for Monday and the Moon, on through Cassiel and Saturn. The first hour after sunrise belongs to the angel of the day, and its planet returns every seventh hour after that.

Each of these seven apps keeps one angel's hours for your exact location, and puts them where you will see them: a widget that counts down to the angel's next hour all day long.

The widgets

The hour, always in view.

In the sources the hour is the door. An operator who missed the hour of Jupiter waited for the next one. The widget does the waiting for you.

  • A live countdownTo the next hour of the angel's planet, calculated from your own sunrise and sunset, not clock hours.
  • What rules nowThe planet and angel of the present hour, shown under the countdown.
  • Three sizesFrom a single line to a full panel with the angel's portrait.
  • Fully offlineThe astronomy runs on the phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Listen

Three hours, thirty-three minutes for each angel

Angelic Communication, our YouTube channel, releases a long binaural soundscape for each angel on its own day: choir, singing bowls and temple bells over a theta beat.

The whole hierarchy

Beyond the seven: Angelarium

For every angel in the record, not only the seven of the days, Angelarium tells you which angel governs the present hour, with its name, seal and order of address.

These apps recreate a historical practice from its sources. Times are calculated from real astronomy; the angelic attributions are reported as the tradition gives them. Nothing here claims an effect beyond what the practice itself offers: attention, timing and prayer.
