ContactThe angels of the Watchtowers and the thirty Aethyrs
The diaries of John Dee and Edward Kelley, 1581–1587
Presents the forty-eight Calls in the angelic language as Dee recorded them, with pronunciation and English sense, and leads their recitation in order. Each Call opens a Watchtower or one of the Aethyrs, and the app keeps track of where the practitioner stands in the sequence.
Ways in: Chant and drone, The Name, repeated, The seal and the gaze, Binaural entrainment. Every session is carried on binaural sound tuned toward theta, the slow rhythm of the edge of sleep that these rites were built to reach. More on the state.
Dee believed these words were dictated by angels through a scrying stone, and that they were the language Adam spoke in Eden. The Calls are dense, rhythmic and nearly impossible to follow with the reasoning mind. That is part of how they work: the recitation fills the speaking mind while attention sinks beneath it.
